Tongan Language Week
Malo e le lei, from Room 22! This week all classes were set a challenge: to create a Tongan outfit to wear in a parade on Friday. Room 22 learnt about Tongan patterns and the meaning behind them, and practised drawing them. Inetoa's Tongan Patterns We then created a class ngatu (tongan tapa) which was used as a 'taovala'. We used some previously created paper feathers to make a 'kiekie' - the piece around the waist. Our creation- Proudly modelled by Jemima Tuipulotu. We have had a wonderful time learning about the beautiful Tongan culture!
Wacky Hair Day
Things were a little bit wacky here at school today... Junior School and their wacky hair! Daniella and her 'silly string' hair! Mohawk bros, Matthias and Tiaki Ghianna and her 'sweet' ponytails. Mathias showing his super stylish mohawk. Leo and his groovy green hair. Daynian's ready for clowning around. Even some of the Junior teachers wore their wacky hair today!
