Tongan Language Week
Malo e le lei, from Room 22!
This week all classes were set a challenge: to create a Tongan outfit to wear in a parade on Friday.
Room 22 learnt about Tongan patterns and the meaning behind them, and practised drawing them.
We then created a class ngatu (tongan tapa) which was used as a 'taovala'. We used some previously created paper feathers to make a 'kiekie' - the piece around the waist.
Our creation- Proudly modelled by Jemima Tuipulotu.
